Job Post: Diesel Mechanic GES
Situated in the Piet Retief/Panbult area, ± 55 km from Piet Retief, Kangra Coal (Pty) Ltd. is a modern, mechanised mine.
The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 12 or N3
Section 13 or 26 relevant certified trade test
Flameproof Certificate
Experience:
5 years’ experience in underground diesel machines
Skills and abilities:
Willing to work overtime and stand-by duties
Ability to work under pressure
Communication and supervisory skills
Control and supervision of subordinates
Ability to identify and control risks
Ability to apply basic maintenance practices
Optimisation and effective implementation of maintenance practices and strategy
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organise, direct production, and maintain equipment in his or her area of responsibility to ensure that targets can be met safely.
Control budget of equipment
Do legal inspection as required
Train and develop employees under his or her supervision
Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules
Ensure optimisation, effective management of maintenance strategy
Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee attitudes
Improve manpower utilisation
Maintain or improve housekeeping and safety records
Ensure all required documents and files are submitted and updated as required
Do timekeeping and keep overtime in control of employees under his or her supervision
Manage overtime and standby duties
Assist in breakdowns during and after hours
Maintain, mechanical infrastructure
