The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Magazine Masters certificate (CIOE)
Hazardous Material Handling Certificate
Driver’s license code EB
First Aid Level 1
EXPERIENCE:
At least three years’ experience within a materials management or warehouse environment.
Knowledge of General Explosive Principles
Knowledge of Procurement & Warehouse processes (Supply Chain)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effective management of explosives and associated accessories in accordance with relevant legal and safety regulations
Coordinate, supervise and monitor all activities at the magazines
Order, receive and issue explosives, monitor stock levels against projected needs and verify materials meet the minimum safety and technical standards
Timeous and accurate reconciling of explosives with supporting documents and controls in place in line with legislation
Comply with legal and safety requirements when transporting explosives
Plan and schedule maintenance and utilization of explosives delivery vehicles
Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows, availability of explosives and achievement of production targets
Liaise with the Inspector of explosives and monitor associated risk assessment processes in collaboration with the site safety officers
Participate in required meetings, including safety meetings
Effective systems and controls in place for the securing of explosives at all times
Maintain high housekeeping standards and conduct inspections of explosives magazines and delivery bay in line with legislation
As part of the stores team will assist with stock takes; compile and manage diesel reconciliations, document receipts on ERP system and contract order placement
