Job Post: Stakeholder Relations Manager

The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:

Grade- D Level

Job purpose 

  • The purpose of this role is to manage relationship between the company, local community, local municipalities, government departments, traditional leaders and other stakeholders. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma / B degree in Development Studies/Social Science /Political Science or equivalent.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position within mining industry. 

  • Proficient in English and IsiZulu.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Implementation of approved strategies and plans with regards to community initiatives. 

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate DMRE interaction, i.e., site inspections, etc. 

  • Identify, select, and prioritise local community projects by ensuring alignment with SLP requirements. 

  • Develops management plans with various stakeholders. 

  • Leading and initiating community forums. 

  • Facilitate all the regulatory requirements in obtaining / securing the mining rights licence. 

  • Ensure the commitments documented in the Social and Labour Plan are being executed. 

  • Ensure communication is cascaded effectively to relevant parties. 

  • Management and coordination of the community forums meetings. 

  • Build and foster community engagement platform. 

  • Play an effective role within SLP project management teams. 

  • Build and maintain excellent and highly efficient working relations with government departments, local municipalities, the Minister`s office, other agencies and key community leaders and group of influence. 

  • Mediate and resolve conflict within the different stakeholders.  

COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  • Ethical, pragmatic and approachable with excellent oral and written communication skills. The incumbent must be literate with good communication skills and be proficient in at least two / three languages of the area. 

  • Previous experience in negotiation, conflict handling and relationship building would be highly advantageous. 

  • Knowledge of mining industry and local municipality. 

  • Facilitation and good report writing skills. 

  • Must be literate in Microsoft Office. 

  • In possession of a valid driver`s licence.
