Job Post: Underground Electrician Position (C3)

The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • N2 or Equivalent

  • Electrical Trade Certificate

  • Millwright Trade Certificate will be an advantageous

  • First Aid Certificate.

  • Driver’s License Code EB (08)

  • Flame proof and Gas testing

  • Medium Voltage switching will be advantageous.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a Coal Mine on the following machines:

  • Dimako/Hansen & Genwest switch gear

  • EMIS belt starter

  • Reticulation systems, 6,6KV & 22KV switching

  • Reside or relocate to Driefontein/Piet Retief

Added Advantage:

  • 12HM31 JNAII, feeder breaker, Shuttle car & Fletcher roof bolters

  • Sandvik machines and Siminco drives

Skills and abilities:

  • Good communication and writing skills

  • Safety motivated

  • Ability to work under pressure & without Supervision

  • Must be willing to work overtime and perform standby duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & breakdown repairs on the above machines and equipment.

  • Adhering to all standards, rules & procedures

  • Must be able to coach and train subordinates
