Driefontein entrepreneur Msizi Yende founded his company six years ago with the dream of becoming an employer and making a difference in his community. Zamaphangwa Contractors, led by the 28-year-old Msizi, has provided deep cleaning services to Kangra since 2020.

“I plan to expand my business to create opportunities for other young people and collaborate with subcontractors. I am dedicated to growing in every possible way,” says Msizi. The company employs five people, and contracts like the one with Kangra ensure stability.

The Zamaphangwa team deep-cleans offices and change rooms at the mine twice a month, utilising special chemicals to maintain good hygiene standards. Additionally, the company offers products such as sanitary bins, soap dispensers, and disinfecting wipes.

A naturally gifted entrepreneur, Msizi ventured into business immediately after completing his artisan course, securing startup capital with assistance from his family. “I didn't study business, but I am a diligent entrepreneur. Once I started, I found the business world fascinating,” reflects Msizi.

Initially focusing on general cleaning contracts, the company later expanded into deep cleaning, with Kangra as its first major client in this niche. “Working with Kangra enhanced our business profile, and we now possess the experience and equipment to operate anywhere,” he concludes.
