Job Post: Surface Electrical Foreman

The ideal applicant  will meet  the following requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12

• Section 13 relevant certified trade test

• Legal appointment (MHSA/DMR 2.9.2)

• Medium Voltage certification

• 5-8 years relevant experience

• 3 years in supervisory position

 Skills and abilities:

• Electrical (installation & assembling) maintenance of Plant & Surface equipment

• 5-8 years’ experience on repairs & maintaining of 22 KV Overhead lines

• Assisting in the implementation of engineering policies and procedures

• Analysis and improvement related to specific work areas (trade specific)

• Manage staff and contractors (functional & legal)

• Analysis of operational failure and incidents

• Adopt technical specifications

• Spares & Resource management (electrical)

• Sound knowledge of the MH&S act

 Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize and maintain equipment in his or her area of responsibility to ensure that targets can be met safely

• Control budget of equipment

• Do legal inspection as required

• Train and develop employees under his or her supervision

• Maintain or improve housekeeping and safety records

• Ensure all required documents and files are submitted and updated as required

• Do time keeping and keep overtime in control of employees under his or her supervision
