Job Post: Surface Electrical Foreman
The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 12
Section 13 relevant certified trade test
Legal appointment (MHSA/DMR 2.9.2)
Medium Voltage certification
5-8 years relevant experience
3 years in supervisory position
Skills and abilities:
Electrical (installation & assembling) maintenance of Plant & Surface equipment
5-8 years’ experience on repairs & maintaining of 22 KV Overhead lines
Assisting in the implementation of engineering policies and procedures
Analysis and improvement related to specific work areas (trade specific)
Manage staff and contractors (functional & legal)
Analysis of operational failure and incidents
Adopt technical specifications
Spares & Resource management (electrical)
Sound knowledge of the MH&S act
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and maintain equipment in his or her area of responsibility to ensure that targets can be met safely
Control budget of equipment
Do legal inspection as required
Train and develop employees under his or her supervision
Maintain or improve housekeeping and safety records
Ensure all required documents and files are submitted and updated as required
Do time keeping and keep overtime in control of employees under his or her supervision
