Donkerhoek Water Project
Kangra Coal has the best interests of its community at heart, due to the mine’s Opencast Mining Operations, Kangra started a water project in October 2018 which was completed in December 2018. The process involved building a catchment area in one of the local streams, gathering the water in 7 tanks and transporting it in a 5.5 km water line.
Total estimate costs of this project R 900 000
The end results of this project are that Kangra could successfully supply 14 homesteads with fresh water at their doorsteps, no more walking kilometers to get to a water source.
