Job Post: Financial Management Accountant

The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12

  • Financial / Accounting Degree absolutely essential

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 – 8 years’ working experience, of which

  • 4 – 6 years job related experience

  • Additional relevant specialized courses and training is advantageous

SKILLS ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE :

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in practical accounting work 

  • Computer literacy (Advanced knowledge of MS packages) Syspro and DraftWorx – an advantage

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accounting to trial balance – full function

  • Preparation and posting of all journals in the financial system

  • To manage & control the financial month-end closing process and all that it entails

  • Prepare various monthly GL recons

  • Control of any major capital projects, such as new shafts, etc

  • To maintain an asset register to accurately record and control the assets of the Mine 

  • To monitor and control capital to ensure the correctness of cost allocation as well as ensuring that expenses are as per the required approval

  • To ensure that all Mine vehicles are registered to comply with legal requirements  

  • To ensure correct allocation of costs via the general ledger, make/clear provisions

  • To effect certain contract payments in terms of the contract specifications 

  • To complete the monthly statutory reports such as VAT201, EMP201 and DMR128 reports and submit them to SARS & the DMR on time, as a legal requirement 

  • Perform all bank entries and bank reconciliations for various bank accounts 

  • To prepare monthly invoices and credit notes to inter-company entities and customers, after proper checking and reconciliations have been performed by you

  • Any ad hoc tasks requested by the Financial Superintendent
